TURBIN CROSS FLOW RHM 32-200 SEBAGAI SISTEM PLTMH DI DUKUH TEMPURAN DESA KELURAHAN KECAMATAN JAMBU KABUPATEN SEMARANG

Abstract

The increase of demands for electrical energy by societies and industries is not equivalent with the increase of electricity producted by PT PLN. The ratio of electricity distribution in Indonesia for 2010 only reaches 67.2%, it means from 230 million Indonesian population, there are still about 75 million population who do not receive electricity. However the Hydropower potencies in the whole country that have been used as electrical energy sources only reach 5.55%. In fact, there are more hydropower potencies used in Indonesia that can be exploited and the electricity production of those is assumed as equal as 75.67 GW of electrical power. This research aims to determine the potency of water resources in Kaligaleh River, and then design the cross flow turbine. Its phases start with a study on the potency of water resources the Kaligaleh River, the design of cross flow turbine, the turbine tests, and the analysis data. Turbine designed was tested at power house in Bayeman Turi Sleman Yogyakarta. The test results showed that the maximum turbine rotation was 945 rpm, maximum torque 59.98 Nm, maximum turbine power 1717.91 watts, and maximum efficiency 73.29%. The results of economic analysis showed that the MHP Tempuran was suitable to be built because it has a benefit cost ratio of 1.32 with annual net benefit Rp.30.085.363,22 and Internal Rate Ratio was 15.73% so that within 20 years it can reach the break event point
