Medios digitales en educación y bibliotecas: renovando el apoyo a la docencia/aprendizaje en la universidad

By Cristóbal Urbano

Abstract

In recent years, numerous studies have dealt with the transformations and constraints undergone by university libraries (UL), because of the responses to the accelerated digital environment in which we find ourselves. Starting from them, this communication will focus on reviewing the trajectory of the UL, as an educational platform of support for teaching and learning. It analyzes the transition to the CRAI model during the 1990s and the need to actualize it today with a deeper commitment to teaching and learning, at a time when libraries should demonstrate with a clear accountability the added value that they can offer. We worked with reports on university and libraries futures, like the New Media Consortium (NMC) and EDUCAUSE with its well-known Horizon reports, and other material Associaton of College and Research Libraries and the European University Association. We do this with the intention of drawing up especially relevant points of the role of support to teaching and learning from the UL
