Governor Al Olson Signing a Bill


In an undated photograph, North Dakota Governor Allen Olson prepares to sign a document in the presence of numerous state government officials. Olson is seated at the the head of the table in the front row, while House Majority Leader Earl Strinden is first on the left in the second row. All others are unidentified. An alumni of UND, Allen Olson served as Attorney General from 1973 until 1980 and as North Dakota Governor from 1981 to 1985. A Republican, Earl Strinden represented Grand Forks in the North Dakota House of Representatives from 1967 until 1989. He also served for many years as President of the UND Alumni Association and Foundation.
