Anna and Thomas Hazard letter to Charity Rotch, New York 4 mo 7, 1821

Abstract

News of family to Charity Rotch in Philadelphia on return from their long anticipated journey to New Bedford in 1821. This letter, dated April 7, 1821 from New York was sent to Philadelphia then forwarded to Kendal, Ohio. Charity failed to thrive in the damp winter-spring New Bedford climate, thus the Rotches left family for the warmer Ohio climate in the early spring of 1821. They visited family along the way and stopped in New York and Philadelphia for shopping. 7.85" x 10.1" (20.1 by 25.8 cm
