Modernidade, identidade e a cultura de fronteira

Abstract

Neste trabalho, procede a uma análise das identidades de raiz sexual, étinica e cultural, à luz do processo histórico que as pretendeu suprimir - aliás sem êxito, como agora se verifica. A propósito, refiro-me às contestações romântica e marxista do reducionismo operado pela modernidade na sua versão hegemônica. Preocupo-me, em especial, com a questão da identidade da cultura portuguesa e proponho uma hipótese de trabalho sobre a sua caracterização.In this work, I analyse the identities of sexual, ethnic and cultural roots, in the light of the historic process that intended to supress them - without success, in fact, as has now been proved. With regard, I refer to the romantic and marxist replies of the reductionism carried out by modernity in tis hegemonic version. I give special care to the question of Portuguese cultural identity and propose a work hypothesis on its characterization
