TOTEM Optics for LHC V6.5

Abstract

A high-ß optics for TOTEM in IR5 has been re-matched for the LHC version 6.5. The properties of the optics are about the same as those described in the TOTEM design report. IR4 has been re-turned to adjust the fractional parts of the tunes to their nominal values. This gives Qx=64.32, Qy=58.31. The machine chromaticity is perfectly corrected with two sextupole families. There is no continuous path from the nominal LHC optics to the TOTEM optics and the vertical tune with the TOTEM optics is smaller than the nominal by one integer. Therefore a special injection optics has been made for TOTEM as well as a transition optics between injection and physics
