Abstract

here are many factors that cause traffic congestion. These factors include traffic volume, signal operations, turning movements, pedestrians, intersection configurations, bus operations, parking maneuvers, and lane closures due to construction. Depending on the situation, anyorall of these factors may play a major role in creating traffic congestion. A tool that can analyze these factors would be a boon to the traffic engineer. TRAF-NETSIM is such a tool TRAF-NETSIM is a microscopic computer software program that simulates individual vehicular behavior in response to any or all of the Pdctors mentioned earlier. It has many features that are not available in other traffic software programs, including TRANSYT-7F
