IMonitoring Freewq T-c Conditions with Automatic Vehicle Identification Systems

Transportation (TxDOT) has awarded the first of three contracts to instrument the urban freeway system in Houston with an automatic vehicle identification (AVI) system to monitor traffic conditions. The AVI system will be designed to provide travel time information on about 120 miles of freeways and 100 miles of reversible highoccupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes.
