Abstract
The Alma E. Hartshorn collections consists of publications, reprints of periodical articles, monographs, conference proceedings, conference papers, book reviews and audio cassettes of interviews with her. Also includes unpublished papers, seminar papers, correspondence relating to national and international conferences and material relating to social work in the health field in Australia. Alma Hartshorn completed degrees in English, French and Social Work. She was a member of the Australian Student Christian Movement before World War II. During the war, she had a career of distinction in the armed services. Her life as an academic and professional in medical Social Work has been acknowledged with the awarding of a Member of the Order of Australia and a Fulbright Scholarship
