Abstract

Abstract: Recently, Social Networking Services (SNSs) have been used to support interactions among university students by building new human relations at Universities. We started a Campus SNS for supporting students of the Department of Engineering at the University of Tokushima on 23 January, 2007. This paper describes characteristics and the efficacy by the online behavior of students on Campus SNS for supporting university students by analyzing extracted log data. Furthermore, we introduce SNS characteristics at the university from the registered profile, change of use situation, the user function, and cases developed through a diary in the real world. These results indicate that university students are more apt to provide close communications, particularly among friends. It is necessary to pose clear targets and to show a model structured for university students on Campus SNS
