Because they require focused visual attention and explicit user control, current computer interfaces have either limited computer augmentation to highly specialized environments or have necessitated major changes to work practice. “Situated usage history displays, ” devices that indicate the former use of physical objects and surfaces enable convenient access to information without disruption of existing environments or behavior.
