Abstract

The significance in history of the land area known as Sayler\u27s Creek is derived from the fact that the last major conflict between Union and Confederate forces was fought there on April 6, 1865. The battle has been neglected because it immediately precedes the surrender; however, the engagement does contain valuable historical information
