Although the dehazing algorithm based on dark channel prior has achieved outstanding results in the field of single image dehazing, it’s invalid for images of which the large gray region is inherently similar to the global atmospheric light. To solve this problem, an improved method of estimating the global atmospheric light, based on the imaging law of very dense hazy regions, is put forward to obtain more accurate atmospheric light. And then, a replacement mechanism is designed for optimizing the rough transmission map, which can weaken treatment in invalid areas. Besides, experimental results are analyzed from the visual perception and objective evaluation standards, and it verifies the proposed algorithm can overcome the defect of the current algorithm efficiently and obtain more accurate clearness results
