I hope all of you have started the new year with lots of new ideas and plenty of energy. The MARS meetings in San Antonio had both of those. I encourage you to take a few minutes to read the reports below to find out more about the discussions and plans being made for programs and publications. The New Orleans conference is shaping up as a “must-attend ” activity. The programs planned by MARS units promise to be interesting and to provide you with useful information you can take home. We are excited to be hosting in the Sunday morning Chair’s Program both John Horrigan, from the Pew Internet & American Life Project and Roy Tennant of the California Digital Library. They will provide insight into the thinking and behavior of independent users as these users search for facts and information. Are you thinking about your library’s web site as an extension of your library itself? Check out the program being planned by the Education, Training and Support Committee.
