PERBEDAAN KELELAHAN KERJA BERDASARKAN MAKNA KERJA PADA KARYAWAN

Abstract

Abstract.Fatigue at workplace has many negative consequences such as accident, illness, performance decreased even death. On the other hand, individuals work to achieve something that related to what is called the meaning of work, which through their work, individuals trying to find a destination, make a contribution, linkages, values and expectations that are expected to minimize fatigue. This study aimed to see differences in fatigue based on the employee’s meaning of work. Fatigue was measured with the Fatigue Assessment Scale / FAS (α = .730) and the Meaning of Work Scale (α = .750). Research in the form of survey on the 59 employees who work as civil servants and private employees in Depok, Indramayu, Bogor and Jakarta. Data were analyzed by chi-square method. The results indicate that there are significant differences between individuals who have a religious meaning of work, collective and virtous character with workers perceived fatigue (x2 = .434, p = .835). Thus, an organization can consider to strengthen the meaningfulness of work on employees, to be more able to resist fatigue at work.Key words: the meaning of work, job fatigue, surveys, Chi SquareAbstrak.Kelelahan di tempat kerja menimbulkan beberapa konsekuensi negatif, seperti kecelakaaan kerja, sakit, menurunnya kinerja bahkan menyebabkan kematian. Di lain pihak, individu bekerja untuk mencapai sesuatu yang terkait dengan apa yang disebut makna kerja, dimana melalui pekerjaannya, individu mencoba mencari tujuan, memberikan kontribusi, keterkaitan, nilai dan harapan yang diharapkan akan meminimalisir kelelahan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan kelelahan kerja pada karyawan berdasarkan makna kerja yang dimilikinya. Kelelahan kerja diukur dengan Fatigue Assessment Scale/ FAS (α =.730) dan Skala Makna Kerja (α = .750). Penelitian berbentuk survey pada 59 karyawan yang bekerja sebagai PNS dan pegawai swasta di Depok, Indramayu, Bogor dan Jakarta. Data dianalisis dengan metode Chi Square. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara individu yang memiliki makna kerja religius, kolektif dan virtous character dengan kelelahan yang dirasakan pekerja (x2 = .434; p = .835). Dengan demikian, maka organisasi dapat mempertimbangkan untuk memperkuat kebermaknaan kerja pada para karyawan, agar lebih dapat bertahan menghadapi kelelahan dalam bekerja.Kata kunci : makna kerja, kelelahan kerja, survei, Chi Squar
