Solubility of Gases in Membranes

Abstract

The solubility of gases in membranes directly affects the gas separation performance in processes governed by the solution-diffusion mechanism. Gaseous solutes (penetrants) are absorbed onto the upstream membrane side, diffuse through the membrane, and desorb from the membrane in the downstream side toward the permeate gas phase
