The ergonomics community is concerned about the lack attention from managers for the possibilities of the ergonomics discipline. The question can be raised whether ergonomics knowledge and methods are known to managers. A bibliographic analysis was made of ergonomics publications that appeared in 97 management and business journals during the last 10 years. The results show that most of the journals have not published ergonomics or human factors papers. The 42 publication that were found confirm the picture of a limited (physical) scope of ergonomics. It is concluded that if the discipline of ergonomics wants to get more appreciation from management, ergonomics experts should become more active to explain their discipline in the manager’s own language and journals
