Research as design

By Regis B. Kelly, Dennis Mckee and Lbnl’s Mark A. Le Gros

BASIC is an action-oriented collaboration of the region’s major research universities, national laboratories, independent research institutions and research and development-driven businesses and organizations. The BASIC mission is to advance the Bay Area’s leadership in science, technology and innovation. The California Institute for Quantitative Biomedical Research (QB3) is a cooperative effort between the state of California, private industry, and the University of California campuses at Berkeley, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz. QB3 strives to harness and engineer living processes to improve human health and advance innovation in the physical sciences as applied to biological problems of scale. In addition to forging new avenues for research, QB3 is training the next generation of scientists to advance this new multidisciplinary approach. Project Concept: Editor
