“I’d like to quote (you) again…my topic is Women and the Economy – and your information is about the most relevant and timely out IWPR there. Our thanks 2003 for the support necessary to produce comprehensive recommendations aimed at better preparing young children for success in school and later life, as well as supporting families. IWPR’s research is accurate, innovative and absolutely essential to the fight for women’s economic freedom. The state-specific data provided in The Status of Women in Arkansas provide plentiful ‘home-grown ’ examples and illustrations of…the feminization of poverty, the wage gap, the gender gap, etc. I wanted to let you know right away how impressive (and welcome) your report was out here in California. Advocates, legislators, and women’s groups all over the state have been falling all over themselves to get a copy of the report. They are simply thrilled to have all this information in one easily accessible place; they can use it for grant proposals, legislation, fact sheets, campaigns, you name it. I will adopt the Status of Women in the States as a text for my class. It is a wonderful resource for class dscussions and the independent research porjects that my students complete.
