Abstract

This report describes the initial work with MAPPAMONDO, a ubiquitous computer system set in a kindergarten environment. Its objective is to offer culture knowledge sharing among children to promote cultural awareness and tolerance. In this project the main goal has been to carry out an empirical background study to receive a deeper understanding of the problem domain. In this report we present our findings on related work and empirical investigations, as well as an evaluation of suitable technology. Based on this, we have made a scenario and drawn up requirements, which may be used as a guide in a later design process. Two demonstrators have been made from the scenario. i iiPreface The project task aims at defining a system for promoting knowledge sharing among children as a way of increasing cultural awareness and tolerance
