The Watch Dog: Finding Government Waste and Recommending Improvements

By Jim Nobles

Abstract

Minnesota's Legislative Auditor, Jim Nobles, is the state's pathologist of government law -- he investigates what happens to state laws after they are passed and often reports back on expensive promises that fall short. From the failings of Minnesota's Sex Offender program to MNsure's stumbles, Mr. Nobles scrupulously investigates state programs and delivers unvarnished truth. Mr. Nobles will discuss common themes in what works and what does not as well as touch on some current investigations including his examination of MNsure.Center for the Study of Politics and Governance, Humphrey School of Public Affairs, UM
