Biological data overload?- Defining today technologies

By

Abstract

for tomorrow Abstract. Advances in experimental and computational techniques have driven molecular biology research into a data intensive discipline. Already known software technologies for data management can help experimentalist and bioinformaticians to deal with this flood of information to a certain degree. In addition, research is still needed in order to provide technologies for effective and efficient integrative data analysis. Available solutions and research efforts towards this goal will be revised and categorised to facilitate a broad picture of the current state of the art, with emphasis on our own contribution to the subject. Finally, we will state some of the open issues that deserve further work.
