Fuzzy Simulated Evolution Algorithm for Multiobjective Optimization of VLSI Placement

e-mai Abstract: A Fuzzy Simulated Evolution algo-rithm is presented for multi-objective minimiza-tion of VLSI cell placement problem. We pro-pose fuzzy goal-based search strategy combined with a fuzzy allocation scheme. The allocation scheme tries to minimize multiple objectives and adds controlled randomness as opposed to orig-inal deterministic allocation schemes. Experi-ments with benchmark tests demonstrate a no-ticeable improvement in solution quality.
