Abstract

<p>In need for iron <i>P</i>. <i>aeruginosa</i> (Pa) produces its siderophore pyoverdine (PYOV). PYOV-chelated iron is not available to <i>A</i>. <i>fumigatus</i> (Af), resulting in iron deficiency and damage to the fungus. Anti-fungal activity in part is counter-balanced by SidA-dependent <i>A</i>. <i>fumigatus</i> hydroxamate siderophores, providing iron to the fungus, further denying iron from <i>P</i>. <i>aeruginosa</i>.</p
