SIMMENTAL CATTLE BREEDING IN THE CROATIA

Abstract

Poljoprivredna proizvodnja ima veliko značenje za razvitak privrede svake zemlje. Govedarsku proizvodnju određuje broj, vrsta, pasmina, kvaliteta uzgoja domaćih životinja i sredstva za proizvodnju. Govedarstvo je najvažnija grana stočarstva i poljoprivrede, ono čini temelj razvoja ukupne stočarske proizvodnje i kao takva je od višestruke gospodarske važnosti. Simentalac je plemenito i krupno govedo prošireno kao čistokrvno ili kao oplemenjivač na gotovo cijelu Europu, dominantno govedo srednje Europe, odakle je potisnuo ili pretopio gotovo sve druge kombinirane i radne pasmine. Zbog dobre prilagođenosti uvjetima klime i držanja zastupljen je uglavnom na manjim i srednjim obiteljskim gospodarstvima. Najbrojnija je pasmina goveda u Republici Hrvatskoj. Iako je u zadnjih dvadeset godina njen udio smanjen za više od 10%, još uvijek joj pripada oko 65% ukupnog broja goveda.Agricultural production is of great significance for the development of the economy of each country. Cattle production is determined by the number, species, breed, quality breeding of domestic animals and the means of production. Cattle production is the most important branch of animal husbandry and agriculture, it forms the basis for the development of the overall livestock production and as such is of multiple economic importance. The predominant cattle in Central Europe - simmental cattle, is a noble combination of properties, extended as a purebred or a breeder in the whole of Europe where it has surppressed or recasted almost any other combined working breeds. Due to the good adaptability to climate conditions and posture, it is represented mainly on small and medium-sized family farms. It is the most numerous breed of cattle in Croatia. Although in the past twenty years its share fell by more than 10%, she still possesses about 65% of the total number of the cattle
