To apply μ-analysis tools to flight control law clearance problems, linear fractional transformation (LFT) based uncertainty models must first be generated to capture the effect of uncertain aircraft parameters on the closed-loop system dynamics. The clearance criteria which are most easily addressed with μ-analysis are those which are defined in the frequency domain such as the stability margin criterion or the unstable eigenvalue criterion. μ-analysis tools which have been developed to address these specific clearance criteria are discussed
