A Tale of Two Codecs: some experiences with H.323

By Ross Nicoll, Martin Bateman and Colin Allison

This paper documents the authors' experiences of debugging voice over IP problems at the University of St. Andrews. Although quite specific to the problem in question, it is hoped that it could provide some insight into how H.323 problems in general can be diagnosed and debugged. The paper assumes that the reader has a good understanding of TCP/IP networking, but little H.323 specific knowledge
