Abstract

International audienceAbstract—This study assesses the impacts of variablerenewables and the use of flexibility on frequency, voltage, andangle stability in a typical isolated microgrid in Indonesia. Thesimulations in Power Factory have illustrated the flexibilityoptions and the stability behavior evolution, considering aparametric study on the shares of inverter-based variablerenewable energy resources. The 10% limit of variablerenewables in Indonesian microgrids is also discussed and provento be rather pessimistic, as this research reaches theinstantaneous penetration rate varying from 0% to 31.3% in theconsidered scenarios
