Cohesive and Disruptive Forces in American Sports

Abstract

Every society has certain cohesive and disruptive forces, which work against each other and largely influence the characteristic features of social stratification. Cohesive forces are all factors in a society that unite a nation by their nature and strengthen national affiliation. In the U.S., these American values include, for instance, expressions of patriotism and democratic concepts, competition and winning, the American Dream, individualism, freedom, etc. Sports in the U.S. can give ground for these cohesive forces.Mscamerikanisztik
