Effects of long term exposure to KYNA on pressure-applied choline-evoked α7* currents.

Abstract

<p>In these experiments, slices were prepared, stored and recorded in the presence of 1 mM KYNA (at least 90 min exposure). Panel A shows representative traces for a baseline choline-evoked α7* current after 2 hrs exposure to KYNA (top trace) and after 5 min exposure to MLA (10 nM, bottom trace). Panel B shows the time course for this experiment. Panel C shows the distributions for control choline-evoked α7* currents (n = 20) and choline-evoked α7* currents after at least 90 min exposure to 1 mM KYNA (n = 10). Each point represents the average of 5–10 events, the error bars were omitted for clarity. There was no significant difference between groups (t = 0.5899, df = 28, p = 0.56, unpaired t-test).</p
