PROGRAM HIPOTETIK BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING PRIBADI SOSIAL UNTUK MENGURANGI KECENDERUNGAN SHYNESS: Studi Deskriptif terhadap Siswa SMP N 4 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017

Abstract

Kepribadian yang sehat harus berubah menuju kedewasaan sebagai bagian dari penyesuaian diri. Kepribadian yang tidak sehat karena gangguan disebut gangguan kepribadian. Shyness adalah sifat menarik diri untuk tampil di depan umum, menahan diri untuk tidak tampil secara ekspresif. Siswa yang mengalami shyness artinya kurang pemahaman dalam penerimaan dirinya. Shyness dapat diatasi dengan pelatihan komunikasi interpersonal. Komunikasi merupakan media dalam berperilaku. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui tingkatan kategori kecenderungan shyness siswa. Metode dan pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan metode survei deskriptif melalui pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 1020 orang siswa, dan menggunakan sampel sebanyak 322 orang siswa dengan teknik probability sampling data yang dikumpulkan diperoleh dari hasil penyebaran kuesioner skala shyness siswa. Hasil menunjukan kecenderungan shyness siswa secara keseluruhan rata-rata berada pada kateogri sedang, artinya siswa mengalami kecenderungan shyness, namun masih dapat mengontrol sikap perilaku dari gejala physiological, behavioral, cognitive, affektif. Implikasinya adalah siswa memerlukan layanan bimbingan dan konseling untuk mengurangi kecenderungan shyness. Rekomendasi penelitian ditunjukan kepada guru bimbingan dan konseling serta peneliti selanjutnya. Personality which is categorized as the unhealthy one is called personality disorder Shyness is a withdraw trait to appear in public, refrain from performing expressively. Students who experience shyness mean they have less understanding in self-acceptance. Shyness can be overcome with interpersonal communication training. Communication is the media in having behavior. The purpose of the study was to determine the level of shyness tendency categories of students. The study design used in this study was descriptive survey method with quantitative approach. The population of the study was 1020 students, and used 322 students as samples with a probability sampling technique. The data collected was obtained from the results of student shyness scale questionnaires. The results showed that the tendency to overall students’ shyness was on the category of moderate, it means that students have a shyness tendency, yet still able to control the attitude of the physiological, behavioral, cognitive, and affective symptoms. The implication was that students need guidance and counseling services to reduce the shyness tendency. Research recommendation is intended for guidance and counseling teachers and further researches. Keywords: Personality, Shynes
