[[abstract]]The objective of this project is to develop three key technologies for integrating flexible color electronic papers (e-paper). The e-paper is typically made by electrophorectic materials which can keep the image still after power off. We will also study the characteristics of electrical and optical response, EPD driving method, and EPD image processing for achieving better color performance on a flexible color EPD. The research team will closely work with the first tier EPD company SiPix in the coming years for developing three technologies: the improvement of EPD driving method, EPD passive matrix driving, and EPD color image processing as well as chip design. As we can predict, the developed intelligent properties (IPs) can be licensed to the partners of SiPix and help to build the patents as well as the infrastructure of e-paper industry.
