校園情境式英文無所不在學習系統的雛型

Abstract

[[abstract]]In the new era of the network, the infrastructure of wireless communication has been established and has already provided many satisfactory facilities. With such a tendency, the wireless technology based on a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) is very popular all over the world. Besides, English is regarded as not only a global language in public, but also a communicating skill for people who wonder involving in the oversea market. Language teaching and learning methods have applied in cooperating with advanced technology. The research utilizes the wireless positioning technique combining context-aware system, while developing English language learning in a campus environment according to the theory of u-Learning (Ubiquitous Learning) embed in our daily life. Take English learning for an example; we designed a context-aware system which can detect the learner location, retrieve location specific learning content through wireless network. Then, the learner can comprehend these suitable vocabulary and dialogues in a campus environment through the detecting agent, the courseware agent and test agent related to the location. Finally, the PDA's program records the learner's portfolio as well as analyzes how to improve his/her learning efficiency by using it.
