## [[alternative]]The Study of Analysis of Structure Strength for Wedges with Through Tenon Joints

### Abstract

[[abstract]]The purpose of this research is to study the difference of the structural strength of wedges with through tenons joints between the hardness of wood and the depth of inserted wedges of tenons and the distance of seams, and to study the correlation among them. Square tenons are strong joints for wood structures, and using wedges with tenons can increase the strength of wood structures. The strength of furniture will to a large extent depend on the design of tenons. This study will analyze all data by statistical analysis. And the conclusions reached by this study are: 1. the average load of withdrawal strength of the wood of the depth of 20mm inserted wedge of tenons and the 7mm distance of seams is 1552.57kgf, which is the strongest of the four experiment materials. 2. the average load of withdrawal strength of the wood of the depth of 10mm inserted wedge of tenons and the 14mm distance of seams is 1012.50kgf, which is the weakest of the four experiment materials. 3. There is significant discrepancy between the depth of inserted wedges of tenons and withdrawal strength t=-4.243. the strength of the depth of 20mm inserted wedges of tenons is larger than the strength of the depth of 10mm inserted wedges of tenons. 4. There is significant discrepancy between the distance of seams and withdrawal strength t=4.547. the strength of the distance of 7mm seams is larger than the strength of the distance of 14mm seam. 5. There is significant correlation between the depth of inserted wedge x1, the distance of seams x2, and the hardness of wood x3, and the withdrawal strength, the raw score regression formula is (ws)= 2600.769 x1+21.033 x2－30.819 x3－2377.318(kgf). The regression formula of the standard score is (ws)= .383Zx1+.533Zx2－.547Zx3
