[[abstract]]The objective of this study is to search for the contents of distance guidance for the automotive practice teachers in vocational high schools. Hermeneutic method was used for its characterics of qualitative process and quantitative analysis. A transcript on the contents of distance guidance for the practice teachers in vocational high schools was designed through literature review and analysis. Twelve experts of education administration practice guidance and seniority in automotive instruction were divided into two groups to examine the transcript. Data collected was analyzed with Spearman rank correlation at significant level of .05. The results are as follows: 1.In the stage of the educational practice of an automotive practice teacher, there are eight categories of the content of practice guidance provided by the teacher education institution involving: automotive instruction theories and practical; the rigts and obligations of the practice teachers; knowledge about laws; understanding and participation of school administration; emotion adjustment and human relations; advanced study and career development; counseling skills. 2.The disadvantages of nowadays guidance system for the automotive practice teachers are vast of dimensionality, difficulty of contact, and high repetition of problems, etc. The traditional guidance method is insufficient to fit the demand of the practice teachers. Guidance through the computer network is a useful strategy. 3.The enforcement of new system of educational practice has met some difficulties. In order to confirm the function of educational practice, it is proper to get integration and communication to definitely regulate the status, rights and obligations of the practice teachers. On the basis of the findings, recommendations were made to the teacher education institution and further research to serve as a reference for the distance guidance for the automotive practice teachers in vocational high schools.
