[[abstract]]The purpose of this research is to realize the effects of solution and artificial ageing treatment to A390 Aluminum Alloy in the aspects of tensile strength, hardness and wear resistance. We adopted Taguchi Method as the experiment design and the control factors included the types of degassing pipe, the modification quantity of phosphorus, the temperature for casting, the temperature and duration of solution treatment and artificial ageing and the duration of natural ageing. The results of this experiment reveal, the diameter of holes on the degassing pipe has some influence over tensile strength but make little difference to hardness and wear resistance. To acquire high tensile strength, modification of 0.006% phosphorus is needed and 0.009% for high hardness and wear resistance. The temperature of casting is best at 720℃ for high hardness and tensile strength but 740℃ better for wear resistance. Solution treatment at 480℃ for 4 hours is helpful to tensile strength and 500℃, 4 hours better for hardness and wear resistance. Natural ageing for one day is good for all. Artificial ageing at 175℃ for 8 hours is beneficial to tensile strength and wear resistance, and 12 hours to hardness. This research offers equations of prediction that can predict the value for tensile strength, hardness and wear resistance. Using those equations, the manufacturers can adjust the processing parameters to meet their needs. We hope this research is valuable to those who employ A390 Aluminum Alloy.
