[[abstract]]This research has three objectives. First, to know the related literaturesabout attitudes of old people. Second, to understand the college students'attitudes about old people through focus groups' interactions. Third, to compare these two attitudes about old peoples. This research has twenty-three respondents who come from four colleges (college of science, college of educate, college of art and college of literature) in the NationalTaiwan Normal University. The conclusion of this research as following:1.The members of focus groups think that we need to define old people in different ways, such as age, psychology, physiology, and standing of social. 2.In old people's psychology and physiology part, the members of focus groups have negative attitudes. 3.The members of focus groups have negative attitudes about old people's personalities. 4.In the life of family, the members of focus groups still think that old people have negative attitudes.5.In the life of social, old people have positive attitudes. 6.The members of focus groups have negative attitudes about living with old people. They would like to live by small families.
