Remarks on Packet Loss Probability for the Network Traffic with Self-Similar Behaviour

Abstract

A number of recent empirical and analytical studies of traffic measurements show self-similar nature in actual packet networks. There has been mounting evidence that the performance of queuing models with self-similar inputs is radically different from the performance predicted by traditional traffic models.
