Abstract

The end of the Cold War and the resulting search for newparadigms with which to understand the world presents the internationalhuman rights movement with both an opportunityand a challenge. The opportunity is created by the demise ofthe global bipolar world view that manipulated and distortedmany human rights concerns. The corresponding challenge isthe creation of a new world order in which human rights arerespected by all societies
