This report summarizes the 1996 Edition of the GRI Baseline Projection. DRI/Mc Graw-Hill's Energy Group (DRI) maintains an energy modeling system for the GRI that is used to produce an annual projection of the supply and demand for energy by regions in the United States. The 1996 Edition of the GRI Baseline Projection is produced using several different models. The models analyze various pieces of the U.S. energy markets and their solutions are bases on a framework of exogenous assumptions provided by GRI. This report describes the integration and solution procedures of the models and the assumptions used to produce the 1995 Edition of the GRI Baseline Projection. The Baseline is used within GRI to provide a single consistent source of assumptions about energy prices, supplies and demands for internal R&D planning purposes. The projection is also made available to other interested parties both in and outside of the energy industry.
