Abstract

Now the use of digital image information is widely used in various applications that require bandwidth transmission channels and storage media are quite large. To overcome the limited storage and bandwidth transmission channel, it is necessary to design an image compression system that has a high degree of compression capability. Image compression system based on JPEG compression algorithm is an image compression system that has a high degree of compression capability. In accordance with the JPEG compression algorithm, the original grayscale images will be compressed at several compression ratios. Due to the compressed data stream is very vulnerable to channel interference. In the process of transmission technique was used Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DS-SS). Results obtained after simulation, reconstruction of the images measured by an objective assessment parameters based on the value Peak Signal to Noise Ratio is an objective assessment of an efficient reconstruction image quality obtained PSNR value 48.23 dB and the number of bits per pixel 3.63 bpp. Keywords : JPEG, image compresion, PSNR, Spread spectru
