Observer-based realization of a computational-intelligence designed launcher attitude controller


A summary of the theory and the main features associate with the observer-based realization of a given controller are presented in this work, together with the semi automatic procedure developed to produce it. System specifications, design technique(s) and model description(s) are fed into a computationally intelligent mechanism which evolves generations of candidates to provide the best fitted one. The controller found in such manner is then converted into its observer-based realization, where their states correspond directly to the plant ones. The double functionality arising from this single and compact structure also allows the monitoring of unmeasured plant states and provides a basis to fault detection and isolation. The pitch plane control system design of a launcher and the angle-of-attack monitoring supply some effective examples
