L'uso competente della biblioteca scolastica: un approccio montessoriano

Abstract

This contribution describes how the Montessori method can be applied to the organization, management and use of a school library. In a Montessori school of Rome, the Centro di studi montessoriano has made a video which shows this project. The idea comes from two considerations: a) the experience appears as a potential "best practice" transferable in educational and school contexts operating on the basis of a child-centred learning environment; b) the pedagogical approaches adopted may stimulate teachers to reflect on their daily professional practice, giving ideas for an educational activity ready to reconsider in a different perspective children’s central role and their training needs
