Parathyroid hormone (PTH, < 10-s M) stimulated adenylate cyclase in fibroblasts, but not epithelial cells, isolated from fetal rat lung. In contrast o osteosarcoma cells (UMR 106), the response of fibroblasts to PTH was increased by pretreatment with cortisol (< 10-8-10-7 M)
