Abstract

In their 2009 interview with Emma Schroeder, Betty and Delmar Janke share their memories about the Eagle Heights Community Garden while graduate students during the late 1960s. The Jankes share their memories about growing a variety of crops, raising children in the Eagle Heights community, freezing and canning vegetables, Shorewood hills, and applying for plots. Additionally, the Janke?s recall their gardening experience before moving to Madison and attempting to garden in Texas after leaving UW
