Log-linear Modeling Under Generalized Inverse Sampling Scheme

Abstract

This paper discusses the log-linear model for multi-way contingency ta-ble, where the cell values represent the frequency counts that follow an ex-tended negative multinomial distribution. This is an extension of negative multinomial log-linear model described by Evans (1989). The parameters of the new model are estimated by maximum likelihood method. The like-lihood ratio test for the general log-linear hypothesis is also derived. A practical application of the log-linear model under the generalized inverse sampling scheme has also been demonstrated by an example. 1
