Web-Based Ontology of Knowledge Engineering

By Abdel-badeeh M. Salem and Hisham S Katoua

Abstract

Abstract: Knowledge engineering deals with the development of intelligent information systems in which knowledge and reasoning play pivotal role. Ontological engineering approach have become an efficient methodology for knowledge engineering and computing in many domains. Ontologies are now ubiquitous in many information-systems enterprises. They constitute the backbone for the semantic web and all of the electronic-activities services (e.g. e-Government, e-Learning, e-Health, e-Business, ect..). This paper presents the development of web-based ontology of knowledge engineering and computing. The developed ontology was encoded in Ontology Web Language (OWL)-Description Logics (DL) framework and using the Protégé-OWL editing environment
