Analysis of Indigenious Vegetation Diversity in Urban Area of Bekasi Regency
The primary role of vegetation is to provide structural support for the surrounding ecosystem, while also contributing to the visual appeal of the road environment. The presence of Green Open Space (GOS) as a venue for sustaining the urban environment is inherently essential, owing to its substantial capacity to enhance both the qualitative and quantitative aspects of urban living. This study aimed to analyze the indigenous vegetation well-suited for developing GOS along road routes within the urban center of Bekasi Regency. The study utilizes a multi-faceted approach, including field surveys, and historical data comparison, to offer a comprehensive analysis of spatial and temporal variations in vegetation diversity. The analysis of vegetation diversity involved the quantification of canopy density, dominance frequency, important/historical value, function in landscape design, and habitat profile analysis of vertical and horizontal structures. These measurements collectively provided an assessment of the state of local vegetation that is being inventoried. The vegetation in Bekasi Regency, within both GOS and urban residential areas, generally meets satisfactory standards in supporting ecological functions. However, in specific residential locations, there remains a lack of diversity in local and rare vegetation. In summary, the study underscores the pressing demand for comprehensive conservation approaches that effectively harmonize development initiatives with the protection of indigenous biodiversity. The results of this study offer a pivotal asset for policymakers and environmental planners in crafting sustainable development strategies for Bekasi Regency

Analisis Pengaruh Luas Lahan, Produktivitas, Harga Beras, Harga Pupuk dan Harga Pestisida terhadap Kesejahteraan Petani di Kabupaten Tangerang
Agriculture as the second largest supporting sector in the Indonesian economy has functioned as a provider of food, a provider of employment, and a source of community income. The need for staple food, especially rice, continues to increase along with the increase in population. The high conversion of agricultural land has become a threat to food security in Tangerang Regency. The strategy that needs to be carried out by the government is the availability of production land and the welfare of rice farmers. Farmer's Exchange Rate is an indicator used to measure farmers' welfare. This study aims to analyze rice farmers’ exchange rate and the effect of variables on land area, productivity, rice prices, fertilizer prices, and pesticide prices on the welfare of rice farmers in the Tangerang Regency. The research method used is Farmer's Exchange Rate Analysis and Multiple Linear Regression. Farmer's Exchange Rate is the ratio of the price of Laspeyers or the comparison of the price index received by farmers with the price index issued by farmers. Multiple Linear Regression to determine the effect of variables on land area, productivity, rice prices, fertilizer prices, and pesticide prices on the welfare of rice farmers. The results showed that the exchange rate of rice farmers in Tangerang Regency in 2021 experienced a significant decline. This is due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has increased the prices of farmers' consumer goods. Variables of land area, rice price, fertilizer price, and pesticide price significantly affect farmers' welfare
The Roles of Export of Coffee Commodity and Macroeconomics Factors on Unemployment in Indonesia
Coffee as the second largest agricultural commodity export has contributed to the economies of various countries, including Indonesia. In addition to looking at the role of coffee commodity exports, an analysis of macroeconomic factors' impact on Indonesia's unemployment rate is also analyzed. Because it is known that the unemployment rate is not only caused by one sector but some things influence it, including macroeconomic factors. This study analyzes the role of coffee commodity exports and macroeconomic factors, including GDP, inflation, and interest rates, on Indonesia's unemployment rate. The data used in this study is interpolated secondary data for the period 2000 to 2021. The estimation method used in this study is Robust Least Square (ROBUSTLS) which will then be estimated again using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method as a robustness test. The estimation results using the ROBUSTLS method prove that coffee commodity exports and macroeconomic factors significantly affect Indonesia's unemployment rate in aggregate. This form of influence is negative for coffee commodity exports (ExpCof), gross domestic product (GDP), and interest rate (IR). While inflation (Inf) has a positive impact on the unemployment rate (Ump). These findings are reinforced by the estimation results using the ARDL method with the result that ExpCof, GDP, and Inf have a significant relationship to Ump, while Inf is not as significant as the findings from the estimation results using the ROBUSTLS method.
Improving Support Systems for Cocoa Farmers beyond Cocoa Swollen Shoot Virus Disease Infestation
Cocoa swollen shoot virus disease (CSSVD) has severely hampered the production of cocoa in Ghana since pre-colonial days. The Ghana Cocoa Board has put several measures in place to support cocoa farmers in the fight against the CSSVD. This present study captures how the CSSVD affects cocoa farmers and the support systems for such situations. Using a survey design, the study employed the multi-stage sampling technique to select 413 cocoa farmers. A structured questionnaire was used to seek information from the cocoa farmers. A multiple linear regression model was estimated to analyse the data. The CSSVD affects the living standards of cocoa farmers through their economic wellbeing, thus, household income and assets accumulation. The social wellbeing of farmers is also affected by the CSSVD through their socio-cultural (participation in cooperatives and communal activities) and educational activities (participation in extension education activities). The implication is that the current support systems given to cocoa farmers after being affected by the CSSVD need to be strengthened, enhanced and made holistic to cover their economic and social wellbeing. Economic and social interventions aimed at increasing the resilience of cocoa farmers in the face of the CSSVD will be helpful in this direction

Proper bookkeeping practices are essential for business performance and sustainability. Unfortunately, most small and medium-scale businesses, including food vending businesses, do not practice proper bookkeeping and, thus, suffer in making financing and investment decisions regarding their operations. Using cross-sectional data from a sample of 70 vendors randomly selected from a population of 200 cooked food vendors on the KNUST campus, the research investigated the factors influencing the vendor's decision to practice proper bookkeeping in their business operations. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. About 76% of the food vendors were aware of bookkeeping practices and acknowledged the value of bookkeeping as a tool to monitor their financial performance and identify strategies to enhance profitability. Two-thirds of the vendors practiced bookkeeping, with 56% keeping financial records and a third keeping inventory records. Among the various factors examined, age, educational level, awareness, startup capital, profitability, access to credit, and experience were identified as the significant factors affecting the decision of a cooked food vendor to practice bookkeeping. The study recommends the need for food vendors to consider bookkeeping as a priority activity to enhance their financial accountability, business growth, and informed decisions about their operations, and thus the overall performance and sustainability of food vending businesses
