    The epistemology of the value of aqidah akhlaq education in Biyanglala poetry book by Abdul Wachid B.S. (A semiotic study)

    The purpose of this paper is to analyze and describe the value of aqidah akhlaq education in Abdul Wachid B.S.’s poems especially in Biyanglala. The method used in this research was qualitative research method of library research where the data collection technique is carried out by studying the reading in the form of lecture notes, books, literature and regulations related to the problem under study. The object of research in this paper is the Biyanglala poetry book. To analyze and describe the value of aqidah akhlaq education in the poetry book, the writer uses Michael Riffaterre's semiotics. According to the results of the study, the writers found out that Biyanglala poetry book by Abdul Wachid B.S.’s contained the value of aqidah akhlaq education, namely in the poetry "Ketika Lima Puluh Tahun", "Hujan Pagi" and “Stasiun Sebuah Pertemuanâ€. The poem "Ketika Lima Puluh Tahun" is a poetry model for the value of faith and the poem "Hujan Pagi" is a poetry model for moral values. The poem "Ketika Lima Puluh Tahun" gives a message of surrender or submission of the “I†to God. How pure tawakal must be relied on to the Almighty and the All- and Oft-Forgiving, Allah SWT. The poem "Hujan Pagi" implies moral values such as responsibility, good prejudice and gratitude for the blessings and grace that Allah has given. The poem “Stasiun Sebuah Pertemuan†is a poem that contains monotheistic value about asma wa shifat. The Poem “Suara†contains a message to always be honest

    Diplomatic strategies of the Patani kingdom in Hikayat Patani: a sociology of literature study

    Hikayat Patani is a saga that tells of the Patani kingdom and various diplomatic strategies contained in the Patani kingdom. The aim of this research is to describe various texts that discuss the diplomatic strategy of the Patani kingdom in Hikayat Patani by using a literary of sociology approach. This research is sourced from the data of Hikayat Patani. The data collection techniques using reading and noting techniques. The data analysis technique uses a qualitative descriptive technique accompanied by a theory of literary of sociology. The results of the study show that diplomatic strategies of Patani kingdom in Hikayat Patani namely: 1) political diplomacy with Siam; 2) war diplomacy with Siam and Palembang; 3) marital diplomacy with Pahang and Johor; 4) trade diplomacy with Cina and Melaka; 5) power diplomacy with Kelantan; and 6) religious diplomacy with Pasai. Moreover, the results of the research show that the diplomatic strategies of Patani kingdom contained in Hikayat Patani are aims to maintain and maintain the honor of the kingdom as a sovereign kingdom and a mirror of Patani society at the time the text was created

    Exploring functional literacy in Junior High School

    Literacy competence becomes a fundamental need for students to support their learning process at school. Likewise, the contribution of functional literacy is very important in living a social life and communicating in the current 4.0 era effectively. This article aimed to describe the form of functional literacy and the obstacles in the implementation of functional literacy program in junior high schools in Yogyakarta. This article used library research and direct observation of the implementation of functional literacy in schools as the research method. The results of the study showed that, first, functional literacy program implemented in schools was still merely accustomed to reading and writing. Schools, in general, have made literacy programs such as reading posts, library visits, work exhibitions, meaningful writing, writing as a response, writing exhibitions, and creative and academic writing. However, the implementation of functional literacy towards the development, learning, and functional needs of students has not been planned and implemented optimally. Second, the constraints on the implementation of functional literacy came from the students and the schools. In addition to the students' lack of motivation, feeling unfocused, tired, and bored also hindered the effectivity of literacy program implementation. The constraints stemming from schools included the lack of budget for literacy programs, the lack of time allocation and new reference sources, and no collaboration between school members in the implementation of literacy programs. The literacy programs were implemented using top-down approach, and have not yet referred to the basic functional needs of students

This poetry study concludes that a woman is indeed demanded to be more courageous, more patient, and more tolerant in dealing with everything. The figurative language used by the author in writing the poem was also diverse, so it has represented several figurative languages that have been commonly used

    This research is motivated by the weakening of cultural treasures due to the development of the times and technology and modernization. The culture in the Kamang Mudiak area, one of which is in the form of oral literature, is unknown and known to the younger generation. Whereas knowing culture and preserving it is part of strengthening local culture so that it does not disappear with the development of time. Therefore, this study focuses on the social function of the kamang mudiak folklore: strengthening local cultural heritage. It aims to describe the social function of the oral literary text of the Kanagarian folklore Kamang Mudiak. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research are folklore texts in Kanagarian Kamang Mudiak. Data was collected through recording, recording, observing, and interviewing. Meanwhile, to test the validity of the data, this study used triangulation techniques. The results of the study indicate that there are social functions in the Kamang Mudiak folklore text, namely: (a) developing community integration contained in the story text Ngalau Kalam Tabik, Makam Panjang, Salodang, Tuanku Nan Renceh/ Harimau Nan Salapan, Ngalau Tarang Batu Biaro Bansa.     Correlation of mastering effective sentences and learning motivation to writing skills of explanation text for high school students

    This article aims to describe and describe the relationship between effective sentence mastery and student motivation to write explanatory text skills. The results of data processing using multiple regression to the explanatory text writing variable (Y) resulted in a multiple regression coefficient (b) of 0.094 for effective sentence mastery (X1) and 0.791 for learning motivation (X2) and a constant (a) of 50.547. Thus, the form of the correlation between the three variables can be expressed by the multiple regression equation Ẏ = 50.547 + 0.094X1 + 0.791 X2. The results of the data obtained in the form of a correlation that has a significant value between effective sentence mastery and learning motivation on explanatory text writing skills at the coefficient of determination R2 = 0.375, effective sentence mastery and learning motivation affect explanatory text writing skills by 37.5%.Â

    This study aims to review the effectiveness of the think pair share method on explanatory text writing skills in terms of learning styles. This type of research is quantitative with the 2x2 factorial experimental method. The population in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kinali. Research data was collected using a questionnaire and performance test. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that (1) the explanatory text writing skills of students who study using the think pair share method are higher than students who study using conventional methods, (2) the explanatory text writing skills of students who have high learning styles who study with the think pair share method are higher than students who learn by conventional methods, (3) the explanatory text writing skills of students who have low learning styles who study with the think pair share method are higher than students who learn by conventional methods, and (4) there is an interaction between the think pair share method and learning styles in influencing the skills of writing explanatory texts

    This research aimed to reveal misunderstanding in the interpretation of the poem “Cinta Kepayang†in the poetry book Gandrung by A. Mustofa Bisri. The characteristic of A. Mustofa Bisri poems in Gandrung is that his poems are very rich in symbols related to the thought of Islamic mysticism (Sufism). The mind is a blend of mystical experience and aesthetic experience. This study uses a qualitative approach to interpretate the poem “Cinta Kepayangâ€. It is library research by collecting primary and secondary data related to Gandrung by A. Mustofa Bisri. The results revealed that the interpretation of “Love†(Cinta) was represented in two styles; first, positioning the symbolic image of women as the presence of divine beauty, second, positioning the symbolic image of women as the most perfect expression of divine love fusion

    Pedro Penduko, Filipino Comic Superhero: comparative studies between comic and screen adaptation

    This study intended to compare Filipino komiks from its film adaptation. In particular, it explores the form and content in Pedro Penduko (1954) and the film adaptation, Pedro Penduko, Episode II: The Return of the Comeback (2000) using the Formalistic Approach in literary criticism. The study highlights the elements such as characters, symbols, and themes. In brief, the characters in the komiks exemplify Filipino identity. However, the film version provides comic relief. Looking at symbols, the komiks used an amulet common to Filipino culture. The film, on the other hand, showcases a magical promotional vehicle. The theme in the komiks is concerned with issues as noteworthy as identity and culture, while the film spectacles self-interest. It was discovered that the komiks form contributes to a great sense of Filipino art. However, its film adaptation lacks the same qualities. The demand for significant visual outputs come from an audience who hope to see visual arts that are not just profitable works of art but are socially relevant and geared towards the promotion of nationalis
