Leveraging a Robust Innovation Culture: Building Internationalisation-Based Open Innovation in Australian Firms
This study investigates the interaction between human capital, a crucial element of organizational culture, and innovation practices of firms operating in varying internationalisation environments. The aim was to analyse how a firm’s business model facilitates the implementation of successful innovation practices within the telecommunications sectors’ different institutional environments. Data for the study were gathered from the Australian telecommunication firms by means of a questionnaire survey and analysed using the OLS regression. The results of the empirical analysis depicted three elements of the robust innovation culture (resilience, competence, and globalism) that affect business innovation model and organisation’s innovation practices in varying internationalisation contexts. Distinct skillsets for firms’ low vs. high internationalised environments are identified, especially resilience for inbound and globalism for outbound innovation practices. These findings emphasize the need for targeted skill development aligned with a firm’s innovation-internationalisation strategy. Furthermore, this study offers a comprehensive, comparative analysis of managerial knowledge and skills (resilience, competence, globalism) within organisation’s innovation culture. This framework could assist practitioners and academics in tailoring skills development to specific innovation practices (inbound, couples, and outbound) across varying internationalisation contexts

Javne investicije u Hrvatskoj i Europskoj uniji
Na temelju analize najuspješnijih projekata EK sistematizira ključne čimbenike njihova uspješnog upravljanja, poput usklađenosti dugoročne strategije s regionalnim, lokalnim i sektorskim strategijama, transparentnosti podataka i političke podrške.

Public investments in Croatia and the European Union
Public investments in the European Union (EU) in the past decade have mostly been stable, averaging around 3 to 3.5% of GDP, with few oscillations. Croatia – with a 5.7% share in 2024, rising from 3.8% in 2010 – is substantially above that average, mostly due to the high share of EU funding. The 2024 European Commission report highlights the importance of strategic public investment planning to meet rising demand. The analysis of the European Commission's most successful projects systematized key aspects of their effective management, including the alignment of long-term strategies with regional, local, and sectoral strategies, data transparency, and political support. Such an approach is particularly important for Croatia to secure the continuity of public investment and properly prepare for a potentially reduced inflow of European funds in the future
Public Sector Entrepreneurship: Present State and Research Avenues for the Future
Public sector entrepreneurship (PSE) is a growing area of knowledge that studies the application of innovative activities and processes to enhance public service quality. This can ultimately affect the public organization’s performance and the country’s economic success and growth. Even though PSE has been studied through the lenses of several academic disciplines, its assumptions are often based on the insights derived from research on entrepreneurship in the private sector. The theories of public entrepreneurship are scattered throughout the literature, while empirical research is still scarce. There exists a need to build a conceptual characterization that distinguishes its unique indicative dimensions. This paper aims to collect and summarize some of the definitions, theories, dimensions, and determinants of public sector entrepreneurship and propose avenues for future empirical research. It is a literature review using the PRISMA methodology to examine public sector entrepreneurship, systematically collecting and synthesizing previous research. This approach yielded 55 publications, which were used as sources for developing a comprehensive conceptualization of PSE. The paper’s contribution is reflected in this review and analysis, as well as its suggestions for future research topics and empirical methods in this developing area of knowledge
Okolišni porezi u Hrvatskoj i Europskoj uniji
Carers of elderly persons with disabilities
Carer’s allowance is one type of support to providers of informal long-term care. The 2022 Social Welfare Act enabled not only spouses or domestic partners of persons with disabilities to be granted carer status, but also persons of the care recipient’s choice, which means that children, relatives, friends and others can be granted the status of carer, provided that they share a household with the care recipient. In addition, people over the age of 65 may also become carers now. The present Note demonstrates how these changes led to an increase in the number of elderly persons with disabilities who were granted a carer – rising from 1 in early 2022 to 109 in mid-2024. However, the latter number is still small. A large number of elderly people with severe limitations in performing personal care and household activities are not supported; the government should put long-term care in the centre of its social policies
